The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a prestigious and fiercely competitive medical entrance examination conducted in India. The counseling process for NEET is administered by the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) for the All India Quota seats and by respective state counseling authorities for state quota seats. To ensure you receive unique and relevant content for NEET entrance exam counseling, here are the key steps and information you need to know:

Registration: Students need to register for NEET counseling online on the MCC or respective state counseling authority’s website. You will need to provide personal details, NEET roll number, and other relevant information.

Choice Filling: During the counseling process, you will have the opportunity to select and prioritize your preferred medical and dental colleges. It’s crucial to research and list your choices wisely based on your NEET rank and eligibility.

Choice Locking: After selecting your preferred colleges, you’ll need to lock your choices within a specified time frame. Failure to do so may result in the automatic locking of your choices.

Seat Allotment: The counseling authority will conduct multiple rounds of seat allotment based on your NEET rank, the choices you’ve locked, and the availability of seats. You will be informed of your allotted seat through the counseling website.

Reporting to Allotted College: Once you are allotted a seat, you must report to the allotted college within the stipulated time frame, usually a few days. Failure to do so can lead to the cancellation of your seat.

Document Verification: At the college, you will need to undergo document verification. Ensure you have all the necessary documents such as NEET scorecard, 10th and 12th mark sheets, identity proof, etc.

Payment of Fees: Pay the prescribed fees for the college and course. This includes tuition fees, caution deposit, and any other applicable charges.

Withdrawal and Upgradation: If you’re not satisfied with the allotted seat, you can participate in further rounds of counseling, where you may be able to upgrade to a better college or course. However, withdrawing from a seat comes with specific rules and deadlines.

Mop-Up Rounds: In some cases, after the initial rounds of counseling, there may be mop-up rounds to fill any remaining vacant seats. Eligible candidates can participate in these rounds.

Waiting List: If a seat remains vacant after the initial rounds of counseling, it may be offered to candidates on the waiting list based on their NEET rank.
