Associated with a century-old history, Samara Medical Institute has recently celebrated its 100th anniversary (in the year 2019) of inception. Currently, it is one of the largest medical universities in and around Russia that mostly trains pharmacists, medical specialists and psychologists. In addition to this, it has 80 departments, 10 faculties, clinics with more than 1000 in-patient beds, and many institutes dedicated for various medicine streams.

Samara Medical Institute is located in the city of Samara (formerly known as Kuybyshev). It lies at the confluence of Volga River, which was once a major focus of trade. At present, it is one of the largest industrial cities of Russia with a network of petrochemicals, pipelines, oil refining and major industries.
